Odessa Port in H1

In H1 of 2005, the Odessa port (Ukraine) handled 14.91 mln. tons, 3.3% down year-on-year. In June 2005, 2.497 mln. tons was handled in the port, 12% up year-on-year, 11.4% up in comparison with May 2005. The port increased dry cargo handling to 6.961 mln. tons (+17.1%). Liquid bulk throughput reduced by 16% to 7.951 mln. tons. The port handled 3.6 mln. tons of ferrous metals, 7.2% down year-on-year. Container throughput grew by 25.5% to 1.294 mln. tons. On the whole, the general cargo volume increased by 24% to 5.07 mln. tons. Solid bulk throughput increased by 109.7% to 1.9 mln. tons, including 1.104 mln. tons of grain (+198% year-on-year), 0.427 mln. tons of raw sugar (+7.4%), 0.357 mln. tons of ore cargoes. 7.567 mln. tons of oil and products (-17.6%), 0.179 mln. tons of gas condensate (-13.2%), 0.131 mln. tons of vegetable oil (+173%), 50 thousand tons of technical oil (was not handled in H1 of 2004) was handled in the Odessa port in H1 of 2005.
