Transit cargo insurance: decision is found.

Russia and Lithuania have reached an agreement on the issues of the Russian shippers’ transit cargo insurance, said Igor Levitin, Russia’s Minister of Transport, commenting on the results of the Russian-Lithuanian negotiations. “Lithuania agreed that the transit cargoes dispatched from Russia via Lithuania will be insured by the Russian companies”, - said Levitin. As to him, until recently absence of such agreement have been a serious problem for the Russian freight transportation. “They had to insure their cargoes both in Russia and Lithuania and it made the cost of cargo almost two times high”, - said Levitin.
